OzEvents recognizes the importance of the protection of privacy and personal information. The Internet Industry Association is developing a Code of Practice for the protection of privacy. It is the intention of OzEvents to subscribe to that code upon it’s completion. Further, OzEvents is committed to adhering to the National Privacy Principles set out in the web site of the Australian Privacy Commissioner, and will comply with any laws for the protection of the privacy of users of this site. OzEvents will:
- inform you of the kind of information collected by us (in accordance with NPP 1.3);
- advise you of the way in which that information is used (NPP 1.3©, 2.1);
- tell you the other parties to whom that information is regularly disclosed (NPP2.1(c), 9(c));
- tell you how you can gain access to that information, and correct it (NPP 6);
- advise you whether it is possible to use the site in an anonymous way (NPP8);
- inform you what security measures are taken by us to protect information collected from you (NPP4).
